Crisis Residence Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY

The Crisis Residence Coordinator will provide oversight for operations of the multiple ROME Crisis Residences. This includes supervision of staff, conducting intake/assessments, coordinating referrals to the respite program, data tracking activities, meeting with respite participants as needed, and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • 1) Coordinate day-to-day operations of respite and warmline satellite programming.
  • Timely review and completion of quality documentation necessary for documenting; consumer contracts, Statistical reports, incident reports; UR/QA requirements and detailed reports of the Clinical Director and the Board as requested.
  • 3) Ensure compliance with all Agency and Program policies and procedures.
  • 4) Ensures Staff compliance with all required trainings/certifications.
  • 5) On site consultation/supervision with staff on a regular basis
  • 6) Determine staffing requirements, and assist interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes. Review turnovers to maintain company Standards and assist with performance appraisals
  • 7) On-Call responsibilities
  • 8) Work in collaboration with community providers, team members, and external partners
  • 9) Demonstrates cultural competency and address participant issues/concerns.
  • 10) Train Staff on program components and use of EHR.
  • 11) Represent ROME in the community and at public events, conferences, etc.
  • Maintain an ongoing safety and risk management program for staff.
  • Ensures all HIPAA, Federal and State confidentiality regulations are adhered to.
  • 14) Prepares reports as requested by the Clinical Director.
  • 15) Identifies office and job resources needs, which include staff supplies and equipment and follows proper agency procedures in obtaining the equipment
  • 16) Frequent travel required to fulfill job responsibilities in various counties throughout Western New York
  • 17) Other duties as assigned.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. Responsibilities include assisting with interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

COMPLEXITY OF WORK AND DECISION MAKING:

Works in accordance with policies and regulations which may require judgment, initiative, creativity and the ability to deal with complex factors and making of decisions based on conclusions for which there may be little precedent.

AUTONOMY AND ACCOUNTABILITY:

Works from general objectives (such as governmental and agency compliance standards) and broad and varying policies, procedures, rules or precedents with significant functional guidance. Review by supervisor focuses on achievement of the objective and not necessarily on the means, except when required to ensure compliance with regulations.

TECHNOLOGY, EQUIPMENT OR TOOLS:

Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams, Outlook. Evidence of skills demonstrated by the ability to perform all the basic functions within each program; including but not limited to maintaining a calendar, sending e-mail, creating letters, creating presentations for training or marketing, as well as the ability to create and edit workbooks. General office equipment is used including fax machine, computer and phone system.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit while using hands and eyes to drive from office to office, over (100) one hundred miles per day, as well as in using a computer or other technologies. The employee frequently is required to see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb stairs and reach with hands and arms.

The employee may need to lift and/or move up to (50) fifty pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually light.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience providing mental health services
  2. Experience in supervision of others
  3. Ability to obtain NY Academy of Peer Services certification within 3 months of hire notification.
  4. Must have a valid Class D Driver License, reliable transportation and automobile insurance
  5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and the ability to maintain records and prepare narrative and statistical reports.
  6. Understanding of the public behavioral health system and principles of psychiatric rehabilitation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • (1) General knowledge of recipient benefits, governmental process, consumer rights, case-management, operations of the agency and possess effective advocacy skills
  • (2) Knowledge of all the contracted counties, partners and providers and has ability to work in a collaborative way
  • (3) Knowledge of the organization and operations of administrative programs
  • (4) Ability to develop long-term plans and programs and evaluate work accomplishments
  • (5) Ability to apply and adapt practices and techniques to the special requirements of the program and senior management
  • (6) Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees, and the general public
  • (7) Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in verbal and written format
  • (8) Knowledge of supervision of staff with problem solving skills and a strong emphasis on team building
  • (9) Ability to maintain a mobile office with the use of a phone and laptop.
  • Have proficiency with Word, Excel, and database software

Wage Range:  $25 - $29 per hour
